We offer  guided garden tours with commentary for groups of up to 50 people. From September 1 to April 30 we serve Devonshire teas as a garden tour  package.

In the days when garden parties played an important part in the social life of the community at the beginning of last century, Swan Lake was the scene of much entertainment.

Well sheltered from prevailing winds and regarded. The best private garden in Christchurch, many a horse and carriage would arrive with guests carrying picnic rugs, food and beverages to enjoy an afternoon of fun and entertainment. Many Prime Ministers of the past, Govt Ministers, Political Parties, Embassies and Ambassdors, Christchurch City Councillors, Govt Officals, Garden Clubs and Charities have used the gardens over the last 120 years.

With our own fresh water lake, Resident Swans, Ducks and Bell Birds, this is truly a special destination. Thai Influence has been incorporated creating a [Sanskirit]  translated Garden of Heaven.

For many years our garden has been used for summer wedding ceremonies and wedding photos which usually take about one to two hours. No alcohol is permitted on site. For price and conditions, please call in to see us. Bookings essential.
